Colin stomped up the steps to his house, cursing under his breath about Kate the whole time. Once again she’d made a fool of him. He knew in his heart that he’d felt something between them but hell if she would admit it. Maybe it was for the best, though. Arthur was right, Kate was married and no good could come of this if he started up with her again.
Before he even stepped all the way into the front room of his house he knew something wasn’t right. He scanned the darkened room, sensing a presence. Cautiously, Colin flipped on the light-switch and stood opened mouthed as he took in his newly altered surroundings.
“What the?” he said outloud, not fully comprehending what he was looking at.
All over the walls, floor, ceiling and every piece of furniture and surface in his home was carved or written the words, SHE’S MINE!
It took a moment for it to sink in before Colin realized what had occurred. Sid. That bastard! This surely must be his handy work. He must have either seen Colin and Kate together or word had gotten back to him somehow.
Colin stood in the middle of the room just staring for several minutes before he finally snapped out of it and slumped down in his newly-defaced chair and picked up his phone.
