Just Saying...

The ride to the Glen was quiet…for the first half of the trip. The tension between them was electric and once the halfway mark passed Detective Erin Leigh Carrick couldn
’t hold her tongue another second. “Cristofuoro…We had better get a few things straight before we get there. Whatever you do, while you are in Australia, you are my responsibility…So don’t fuck things up for me OK?”Detective Lt. Cristofuoro shifted in his seat to face her.
”Name is Lt. Det. Cristofuoro. Det. Carrick. And I am not planning to “fuck things up” as you put it. I just want to follow my lead so I can hopefully wrap up my case”.
Frowning she flipped him “the forks”. “Fucking liar…I
’ve seen you at the hospital… even after I told you not to go there. You want to clear up any questions they might have about your involvement in the Braddock case.”Choosing to ignore her, Cristofuoro turned back towards the window for the rest of the ride. As they pulled in front of the Glen police office he turned back to her. “You might want to lay off the cussing. Some might see it as unprofessional. Just saying.” With that he got out of the car.
The Glen… seemed like he had waited weeks to get here since getting his lead. Finally here he was. It was small; but obviously growing…all the expected shops were in place and even a few unexpected ones…he had noted an antique shop on the way in.
“Come on let’s get this over with Lt. Det. Cristofuoro…” she said with a grimace as she passed him on the way to the police office door . “I told Sheriff Biebe we would be here by one and it is five after….if you dawdle any more I am going to tell him you made a stop for donuts on the way in”.
