A Chocolate Valentine

Toni was so proud of herself it looked just like the picture a decadent chocolate cheesecake. Richie was going to love it. She proudly set it on her dining room table. Valentine’s Day had started out with funnies. Toni had picked up a pair of men’s boxers with hearts all over them and used that as his placemat for breakfast. She’d made him heart shaped pancakes with strawberry syrup. They exchanged funny valentines and he’d given her a hot pink fuzzy pair of earmuffs because she’d complained of him snoring.

She knew he indulged her in all this silliness, he really could care less but he played along. Tonight she’d planned a special dinner for just the two of them, candles and good china, a nice bottle of wine and who knows where it may lead, she grinned.

Richie knew what he was supposed to do and he walked around the jewelry counter several times before settling on the diamond heart. You couldn’t go wrong with jewelry he’d found out. A dozen red roses and sweet valentine and he was on his way home. She’d warned him about candy at breakfast, it just wouldn’t do she’d said around the second helping of pancakes, spoil her diet.

She had of course remarked that diamonds never made a girl fat. Toni dropped hints like a concrete block.

"Oh Richie, red roses, umm kiss kiss!" Toni kissed him on both cheeks and one softly on the lips.

"You know I didn’t buy you anything…" she said pouting.

"Good…that’s good you know I said I didn’t want anything…I don’t need anything."

"Howsoever Mr. Roberts I do happen to know you have a weakness…and I have indulged it!" Richie rolled his eyes and let her lead him into the dining room. "Feast your eyes on that!" she said triumphantly

"Is that cheesecake…chocolate cheesecake? " his eyes got big and he grinned.

"Yes…because I love you." Toni put her arms around his neck.

"You know I love you Toni…almost as much as chocolate cheesecake." He stopped whatever she was going to say with a deep and satisfying kiss.
